When SEC coaches hear the names Odell Beckham, Jr. and Jarvis Landry it still makes those who had to defend those two tremble. Last season, LSU had perhaps the most dominant WR duo in the SEC since the Florida days of Ike Hilliard and Reidel Anthony. However, both Beckham, Jr. and Landry are now headed to the NFL leaving a gaping hole in the Tigers receiving corps. To help fill that hole in comes Malachi Dupre.
Dupre was one of the hardest recruited WR prospects in the country. With his 6'3 190 pound frame, blazing speed, amazing body control and 40+inch vertical he is going to be a handful. Every school that recruited him from LSU, to Alabama, FSU, UCLA, Ole Miss and others all said the same thing about him - he is an elite vertical threat.
While his game still needs refining in the finer points from route running to the ability to get off of press coverage but he is too good of an athlete and LSU has too much of a need at WR for him not to come in and be an immediate high level impact player.
